On Tuesday morning, Rappler reporter Pia Ranada was barred to enter Malacanang. Pia was seen struggling to get an information from the officer in-charge at the gate as to who ordered the ban.
Pia forced a member of Presidential Security Group to face her with a cellphone camera but the officer refused to answer. Despite of the refusal, Pia tailed the security and eventually stopped when she failed to intimidate the PSG.
Spokesman Harry Roque, however, allowed Rappler to join his press briefing and cleared that he has no power to dictate the PSG’s protocol. Roque said that Rappler will not only be allowed to cover presidential events inside the Malacañang. Watch: Roque sermons Pia Ranada
On the other hand, PSG Chief Loui Dagoy expressed his dismay over Pia Ranada’s behavior towards one of his men who only followed an order.
“Bakit kailangang bastusin yung sundalo ko? Isubo-subo na yung mic… Sumusunod lang yan… Kung hindi kaya ng sundalong sagutin yon, magtanong kayo sa PCOO… Next time na mangyari uli yan, I’ll ban you from the whole of Malacañang complex…” Dagoy said
